Wiring Manager handles all tasks related to detail cable, wiring and termination design. Wiring Manager has three integrated modules:

• Wiring Manager - Equipment module enables fast definition and editing of equipment terminal arrangements including terminal strips, devices and I/O modules, design of 'internal' wiring and cable terminations (without CAD)
• Wiring Manager - Cables module enables fast definition of project cables from a user definable cable catalog and assignment of cable ends to equipment. Also assignment of cable glands and gland adapters and Bill of Materials reporting.
• Wiring Manager - Cable Block Diagrams module enables a graphical representation of cable interconnections. Users can create equipment and cables within each diagram or drag existing equipment into a diagram and all interconnected equipment is automatically added and cables shown.

The features below have been implemented to provide the fastest and most efficient cable/wiring design application. You can create a complete Cable/Wiring design work-packs (Termination diagrams, Cable Schedules, Bill of Materials etc) without using any CAD product. If you do require CAD files Wiring Manager data can be used by IDO Designer to create AutoCAD termination drawings automatically:

Equipment View

• Graphical representation of all equipment terminal strips, components and terminals in Plant/Area hierarchy
• Define equipment terminal arrangements for:
  • Field Devices, Devices (Relays, IS Isolators, Power Supplies etc), I/O Modules , Terminal Strips & Earth Bars
  • Junction Boxes, Marshalling Cabinets/Panels, DCS/PLC and other Equipment
  • MCC's, Distribution Boards. Motors etc
• Define terminal strips/DIN rails etc within equipment from a graphical interface:
  • Automatically create terminal strips of any number of terminals
  • Create equipment terminal arrangements based on standard equipment arrangement catalog (user defined)
  • Merge Terminal Strips in same equipment, move terminals to new strip (i.e. split) – retaining wire terminations
  • Move Terminal Strips to other equipment – retaining wire terminations
  • Supports DIN Rails with combination of terminals & devices (relays, IS Isolators, I/O modules etc)
• User definable Component Catalogs ensure consistant data for Devices, I/O Modules etc
• Access equipment terminations
• Supports assignment of instrument tags to Junction Boxes and auto-creation of cables/terminations based on IDO 'wiring rules'
• Automatically create Ferrule/Wire markings based on user defined 'ferrule rules'

Cable Management

• Create cables by copying existing cables or create manually by copying from the cable catalog
• Cable Catalog includes over 1500 cables from Australian and European Manufacturers
• Cable Schedule displayed as grid with filter by plant area
• Filter cables by any user criteria within Cable Schedule (e.g. where Type = 2Pr or Cable = New etc)
• Merge two cables to create a new cable (where cables have same source & destinations)
• Split cables into two based on cable properties (cable type, core size, screens/shields etc.)
• Change of Catalog Number updates all core markings and re-aligns cores by type and marking
• Assign Cable Glands from user definable gland catalog based on gland/cable properties (i.e auto match cable outside diameter/Gland range)
• Auto Cable drumming creates Cable Drums by cable type & assigns all cables to optimise cable usage & minimise wastage
• Assign Cable Gland Adapters from user definable gland adapter catalog based on gland/equipment connection properties
• Report changes in cable properties, BOMs etc

Cable/Wire Terminations

• Drag and drop wire terminations (on wire by wire basis or terminate an entire cable)
• Auto connect cables/wires by matching wire numbers
• Work with a list of cables and cable cores not yet terminated
• Supports multiple terminations per terminal
• Supports wire number inheritance (wire nos. are ‘passed’ along interconnected cable cores and wires)
• Supports Terminal marking modification (terminal re-numbering) one at a time or in groups
• Automatic cross-patch wiring within equipment (e.g. Marshalling Cabinets) and between equipment in same location
• Supports “Links” and "Looping Wires" between terminals, fused terminals and disconnect terminals
• Create quality graphical termination reports instantly in PDF format without requiring any CAD application (see example below)
